This fine drawing will have been made in November 1814. This is the date engraved in the
later version of the Prentwerk with the number 85. The first edition was called Studiebeelden en
Fragmenten, published in 1816. A later edition 1826 has printed numbers. In between there was another edition.

|
I have added to the drawing the print in the first state, before clouds and shadows.
A complete set of the edition with the numbers can be added as well.
The drawing is not mentioned in the Exhibition catalogue of 1972. Many of those came originally
from the collections Dentz van Schaik and Welcker. |
