| Fine impression on 17th century paper, before the later added cloud and the changes around the large oak. Remargined with a strip of paper on which the collectors stamp of Friedrich August is applied. Sold at auction byBoerner in Leipzig in Mai 1933, lot no. 637 with the comment “Prachtvoller Frühdruck, vor der grossen Wolke und zahlreichen Überarbeitungen. Ein Exemplar von brillanter Wirkung, wie es kaum noch antreffen ist.” Considered important enough to illustrate the print. Contemperary impressions of Ruysdaels prints are extremely rare. |
