The history and contents of the albums is described in the article by J.P. Filedt Kok, Eric Hinterding and Jan van der Waals Jan Harmensz. Muller as Printmaker II. During the seventeenth century the Muller albums were kept together and added to by Mullers brother in law Cornelis Dirksz. Cool and his son.

We do not know who bought the albums in 1702. However there is a large group in the Amsterdam Prentenkabinet, coming from the Baron van Leyden collection and a group in the British Museum. We know that this group was in the Verstolk van Soelen collection.

The other collectors mark is that of Dr. August Sträter (1810 1897) (Lugt 787) who according to lugt bought at the Verstolk van Soelen sale.
