Influenced by Japanese prints Mankes planned to make impressions in colour.
There exists one impression in colour in the Rijksmuseum Printroom. According to his own
words it did not work out well.
1913 was the first year he made woodcuts. |

| At the top of the print is a written title “Stoel” and 1914. That will be the date when the print was offered, since it was made in November 1913. |
