Engraving.

With “C Cornelij Haerlem inv.”
Four lines of Latin verseby N à Wassenaer; “Saturno genitus domitor Neptunus aquarum ….. fluctuvagos”.
34.3 x 21.5 cm. with ample margin.

Excellent impression, good condition. Verso a sketch of a head.
Hardly visible horizontal centerfold.
Watermark; Round shield with two animals.

Bartsch 311, Hollstein 210, New Hollstein, Matham R 21. 1(II) before the address of Visscher.
In the New Hollstein volume the print is rejected as engraved by Matham. It is attributed to Willem van Swanenburgh. The print is rare. In the Illustrated Bartsch it is illustrated in the second state with the Visscher address. Swanenburgh normally worked after Bloemaert, Moreelse or Rubens. I could not find a print after Cornelis van Haarlem by him.
